Blackie

I lived on a Northern Alberta First Nations reserve and had no one to take care of me. Northern Spirit K9 Rescue came to the reserve weekly to feed the dogs, and I was one of them. In October 2008 I had a litter of puppies under a trailer, and Northern Spirit K9 Rescue was given permission to take the puppies when they were 6 weeks old (see my puppies picture below). I had had a litter before but all of my puppies died from Parvo, but his time all six were saved. They were taken to the Edmonton Humane Society where they all found furever homes.

Several weeks later the rescue was at the reserve again and they found me with a big hole in my side, I was taken to the Castledowns Veterinary Clinic where they stiched me up and also found that I had every worm imaganeable. The treatment was very expensive but Northern Spirit K9 Rescue paid for my care and then it was off to a foster home provided by SCARS Rescue. There I had other dogs and cats to play with and my foster mom said that I was a very gentle girl and got along well with the other animals.

I have since found my furever home where they have a little boy that I can snuggle with at night, and I get lots of love and treats.

Thank You SCARS Rescue and of course Northern Spirit K9 Rescue.
